ALIGC is the trading name of ECOMMERCE STORE LTD. This notice explains how we collect, use, store and share personal data when you visit aligc.com, create an account, place an order or contact customer support. We never sell your personal data.

1. Who we are

The data controller is ECOMMERCE STORE LTD, a private limited company registered in England and Wales (company number 16873650). Registered office: 14 Bramley Gardens, Herne Bay, Kent, CT6 7DS, United Kingdom.

For privacy requests write to privacy@aligc.com. For order and account questions use support@aligc.com or the contact form.

We process personal data in line with the UK GDPR, the Data Protection Act 2018 and, where EU shoppers are involved, the EU GDPR.

2. Data we collect

Depending on how you use ALIGC, we may process:

  • Identity and account data — name, username, email address, password hash, language and city preference, membership tier.
  • Contact and delivery data — billing and shipping address, postcode, country, optional phone number, delivery instructions.
  • Order data — items purchased, quantities, prices, coupons, order status, returns and refunds, customer messages.
  • Payment metadata — last four digits, card brand, expiry month/year, tokenised card reference and payment status. Full card numbers and CVV are never stored on our servers.
  • Support data — emails, contact-form messages, complaint records and the outcome of a case.
  • Technical data — IP address, browser type, device, referring URL, pages viewed, session duration, cookie identifiers and language.
  • Marketing data — newsletter opt-in, email engagement and the products you have saved to a wishlist (if you create an account).

We do not collect special-category data (health, biometrics, political opinions) and we do not ask for a national insurance number or passport.

3. How we collect it

  • Directly from you when you register, check out, bind a card, start a return, subscribe, or write to support.
  • Automatically through cookies and similar technologies when you browse the store. See our cookie policy.
  • From payment and logistics partners who confirm that a charge succeeded or a parcel was scanned.
  • From you if you send a local-price claim (a shop receipt, product link or photo) under the price promise.

4. Lawful bases

We only process personal data when a lawful basis applies:

  • Contract — creating an account, taking payment, dispatching an order, handling a return or refund.
  • Legal obligation — tax records, consumer-rights complaints, accounting and fraud reporting.
  • Legitimate interests — keeping the store secure, preventing abuse, improving Local Price Radar, measuring which pages help shoppers, and answering support tickets. We balance these interests against your rights.
  • Consent — optional analytics cookies, marketing emails and storing a payment method for future checkouts where the law requires consent. You can withdraw consent at any time without affecting earlier processing.

5. How we use it

  • To show local prices, take orders and arrange UK and European delivery.
  • To send order, dispatch and return confirmations.
  • To run customer support, refunds, replacements and the price promise.
  • To keep your bag, language, city and cookie preferences working between visits.
  • To detect fraud, failed payments and unusual login activity.
  • To improve the catalogue, search and help pages — using aggregated, not sold, data.
  • To send deal emails only if you have opted in. Every marketing email includes an unsubscribe link.

6. Payments

Card payments are processed by PCI DSS certified partners. We receive a token, the last four digits, brand and expiry so we can show a bound card in your account and complete checkout. We cannot reconstruct the full PAN from that token.

If you choose Klarna or another instalment method, that provider is an independent controller of the data they need to offer credit. Their own privacy notice applies to that processing.

Checkout on ALIGC requires a bound payment method. Guest shoppers enter an email first, then add a card, so we can send the order confirmation and process a refund to the original method.

7. Who we share it with

We share only what is needed, and only with:

  • Fulfilment and carriers — name, address and parcel contents so your order can be picked, packed and tracked.
  • Payment processors — the details required to authorise, capture or refund a payment.
  • IT and hosting providers — who host aligc.com, email and backups under written contracts.
  • Professional advisers — accountants or lawyers, where required to run the company.
  • Authorities — where the law requires us to disclose information (for example a court order or HMRC request).

We do not sell lists of shoppers, and we do not allow third parties to use your data for their own marketing.

8. International transfers

Some of our processors may store data outside the United Kingdom. Where that happens we use an approved transfer tool: the UK International Data Transfer Agreement, UK Addendum to the EU Standard Contractual Clauses, or an adequacy regulation. You can ask us for a summary of the safeguards we rely on.

9. How long we keep it

  • Account profile — for as long as the account is open, then up to 12 months after closure unless a longer legal period applies.
  • Orders, invoices and refunds — 6 years after the end of the tax year, which is the usual UK accounting retention period.
  • Support tickets — 24 months after the case is closed.
  • Marketing lists — until you unsubscribe, plus a short suppression record so we do not email you again by mistake.
  • Server logs — typically 90 days, unless needed for a security investigation.

10. Security

We use HTTPS, hashed passwords, access controls on staff accounts, and tokenised payments. No website can guarantee absolute security. If we become aware of a personal-data breach that is likely to result in a risk to you, we will notify the ICO and, where the law requires, affected shoppers.

11. Cookies

Essential cookies keep your bag, language, theme and sign-in session working. Optional analytics cookies are used only if you accept them in the banner. Full details, including names and durations, are in the cookie policy.

12. Marketing

We send promotional email only with your consent (or, for existing customers, under the PECR soft opt-in where that is lawful). You can unsubscribe in one click, in your account, or by writing to privacy@aligc.com. Service messages about an order you placed are not marketing and will still be sent.

13. Your rights

Under UK GDPR you can:

  • access a copy of the personal data we hold about you;
  • ask us to correct inaccurate data;
  • ask us to delete data, where an exemption does not apply (for example we must keep invoices);
  • object to processing based on legitimate interests, or to direct marketing (which we will always stop);
  • ask us to restrict processing while a complaint is reviewed;
  • receive your data in a portable format;
  • withdraw consent where consent is the basis we rely on.

Many of these actions can be started from your account. Otherwise email privacy@aligc.com. We may need to verify that the request comes from you. We aim to reply within one month.

14. Children

ALIGC is aimed at adults. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we will delete it.

15. Automated decisions

Local Price Radar compares publicly listed shop prices in your city. It does not make a legal or similarly significant decision about you. Fraud checks may automatically hold an order that looks high-risk; a member of the team reviews those holds before we cancel.

16. Complaints

Please give us a chance to put things right first: privacy@aligc.com. You also have the right to complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk, or to your local EU supervisory authority if you shop from the EU.

17. Changes to this notice

We will update this page when our processing changes. The date at the top is the latest version. Material changes will be flagged on the store or by email if we hold a current address for you.
